 FAQs

Where do sessions take place?

We’re in Erina, on the Central Coast of New South Wales, just North of Sydney. See you soon!

What should I expect from my first session?

In your first session your psychologist will get to know you and understand your story. What you share is up to you. You may also fill out some questionnaires on arrival at your first session, to help the psychologist learn more about what you are struggling with, giving them the best possible chance of helping you on the road to recovery.

The psychologist will also explain how they work, and together you will establish some guidelines for the sessions (frequency of sessions, format of sessions and confidentiality issues). There will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions.

What time are appoinments?

Monday and Thursday between 8am and 8:30pm
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 8am and 6pm
Saturday between 9am and 4pm

What times can I call and speak to a receptionist?

Monday and Thursday between 8am and 7:30pm
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 8am and 5:30pm
Saturday between 9am and 3:30pm

Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?

Of course you can; things come up unexpectedly. All we ask is that you please give 24hours’ notice so that other clients can be offered the time slot. Late cancellations where the appointment time can’t be filled due to late notice, will incur a $100 cancellation fee.

The reason for this policy is that your therapy won’t be effective unless you attend. Sometimes depression, anxiety and other conditions can be overwhelming and the desire to avoid coming to your appointment and confronting your thoughts and feelings can be very strong. However every time you make the choice to come in, you make a positive contribution to your mental health and to your recovery. The cancellation policy is there as a further incentive to make a healthy and positive choice.  Let’s work together on your recovery.

Are sessions confidential?

Information shared during sessions is confidential and cannot be disclosed without your consent. There are some legal limitations to confidentiality, which your psychologist will discuss with you in your first session. Your psychologist will ask you to sign a consent form if there is a need to discuss information about you with another person (such as a GP, lawyer or third party billing source). For more information please see our privacy policy.

Do I need a referral from a Doctor to see a Psychologist?

You can see a Psychologist without a referral. However, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan from your Doctor if you would like to claim the Medicare rebate. We can give you information about this process.
