In trouble with the law?
Have you been arrested?
Have you been caught DUI or drink driving, and worried about losing your driver’s licence?
Need a Section 14 diversion application?
Need a report for a sentencing hearing for local court?
Sometimes circumstances arise that involve us in the legal system – either civil or criminal. When this happens, an expert assessment of the psychological issues or factors involved can be a valuable part of the case that your solicitor presents to the court.
Both criminal matters (which include things like DUI charges or other drug and alcohol-related matters, as well as assault and other more serious charges) and then pre-sentencing reports, as well as Section 14 diversion applications, expertly provide information to the courts about:
How your mental state may have influenced your behaviour
Your degree of regret and remorse
The negative impact that the event has already had on your life
Detailed recommendations with respect to appropriate treatment
These are complex areas, and we work with your solicitor to provide the court with the information it requires to make decisions.
Information for Lawyers
We provide clinical expertise in assessing and treating psychological conditions and a sufficient understanding of the core legal concepts and complexities so that your clients have accurate psychological assessment reports.
In particular, Susan Wojciechowski has more than 20 years of experience in the NSW criminal justice system, which gives her the knowledge and expertise to help negotiate legal difficulties by preparing accurate and objective advice to local courts.
